Top 10 Achievements in 2024-2025











1. Convened approximately 125 international educators in Philadelphia for the 2024 PACIE Conference, Foundations for a Global-Ready Future
highlighting opportunities for K-12 schools, higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and businesses to support students’ development of global competencies and cross-cultural skills that serve them in their future careers
showcasing excellent global education through a return to annual awards and a special recognition of Christina Good’s 25-year tenure as PACIE Executive Director
affirming Temple and PACIE’s commitment to sustainability throughout the 2-day conference
Plenaries included addresses by now-PA Acting Secretary of Education Carrie Rowe and a panel of representatives from the Global Philadelphia Higher Education Hub.
2. Continued legacy building as Julia D’Aleandro Meyers took on the role of Executive Director
3. Record number of PACIE Grants for K-12 Educators, with an increased award amount (previously $500 per award and called “Mini-Grants,” and now $750 per award, thanks to an anonymous donor)
4. Became an Act 48 provider, in order to continuously offer professional development opportunities for PA K-12 educators in collaboration with others in PA doing this work.
5. Secured Platinum Seal of Transparency — Candid’s highest level of transparency and accountability for non-profit organizations
6. Streamlined business processes through transition to Google suite
7. Strengthened coordination with StudyPA and Senior International Officers (SIOs) at higher education institutions across PA, in order to advocate for global education with a common voice
8. Ongoing advocacy for the importance of international students and scholars, through a region-by-region Economic Impact Campaign
9. For the second year in a row, post-pandemic, convened in central PA for Spring Board Retreat at Dickinson College. Following the Board meeting, the PACIE Board of Directors was joined by SIOs for a guest lecture with Dickinson College President John Jones III regarding the current federal administration and its impact on higher education, the Commonwealth, and global education and civic engagement.
10. Continued relationship building in Harrisburg. Met with PA Department of Education and PA Department of Community and Economic Development for the second consecutive year, and established new relationships with representatives from the Office of Governor Josh Shapiro, the Office of Senator Greg Rothman, and Team Pennsylvania.
